“God wants the process of motherhood to radically change you. He wants each fear and failure to drive you closer to dependence on Him. He wants each challenge to make you hungry for His wisdom, and each unknown to strengthen your faith… Among all the many variables of motherhood, being truly guilt free depends upon only one: walking with God through the process.”
Questions for Reflection:
- How is God working on your heart and teaching you as you teach your children?
- What keeps you from daily drinking from God’s Word? How does your time with God impact your ability to be guilt-free as a mother?
- What are a few of your personal weaknesses that you believe interfere with your parenting? How can God be glorified through those weaknesses?
- How has reading this book impacted the guilt you experience as a mother?
Digging for Wisdom:
- Read Psalm 1. Contrast the tree planted by the stream and the chaff that the wind blows away. Why is being in the Word of God so important to being rooted in godly wisdom?
- Read 1 Corinthians 1:25-31, 2 Corinthians 7:10. Romans 8:26-39 and Isaiah 40:26-31. How do you think God feels about your weaknesses? How can He use them to be glorified and to bring you to childlike faith in Him?
We will meet this Thursday, December 13, from 9.30 – 11.30am at 2/F Island ECC. Refreshments and childcare provided.
